Are you traveling with children?

Check the expiration date of everyone’s passport. Children’s passports usually expire after five years and adult passports after ten years. Find specific information regarding applying for and renewing US. passports for children by visiting the Passport Office’s website. Know the unique travel document requirements for the country you are visiting, including passport expiration dates and immigration entry and exit requirements, such as visas. Some countries require additional documentation from your spouse or other guardians of children.

Additional Documentation:

If you’re traveling with children and one/both of their parents are not with you, prepare to be asked to provide documentation that you have permission to travel with the child. Ask the child’s parent to sign a “Travel Consent Form,” available free on many legal websites, and have it signed in the company of witnesses. Take the form along with you and have it handy when you are travelling.
